When: July 14-17 1:30-4:00pm

Who:

Ages 9 and up.

Pre-Requisite :

Beginner level sewing or 2-3 private lessons. Student should have a good understanding of project construction and be proficient at working independently, following directions, pinning, cutting fabric, and sewing curves.

What:

In this class we will be focusing on working from patterns. Patterns can be for clothing, bags, stuffed animals or anything that you are excited to make. We will cover basic pattern reading and each person will follow the directions of their project while I’m here to help answer questions along the way. Beginner patterns are highly encouraged. I will reach out in advance to make sure each person has a pattern that works for them and the correct materials before class starts.

Note: This class does not include pattern or cost of materials.

I am happy to answer any questions and assist as needed.

-Take your measurements so you know what size pattern you are looking for.

-Choose a pattern with an easy skill level (McCalls has a variety of good patterns). I have pictures of some patterns that would be good beginner patterns. Please stick to a pattern and fabrics without stretch if you are able

-Choose a fabric that you like. Read the pattern instructions for the correct type and amount of fabric you need. Most fabric stores can help you. I am also available to assist anyone who needs help with this.

-If your pattern needs additional notions like a Zipper or buttons bring those along. You can also choose a thread that matches if it is a unique color. I have black and white thread available and a limited amount of other colors.
