Sewing experience is preferred but not required. Projects will be appropriate for each individual skill level.

July 24-27 1:30-4:30

This class is designed for teen and pre-teens who want to start exploring clothing construction and designing their own cloths. We will have a few projects on hand such as a skirt, dress, or shirt, but each student is welcome to bring a pattern they would like to sew. Please choose a beginner level pattern and bring all fabric and notions needed for the project. This class is also a great opportunity to upcycle and change clothing you currently have.

In this class we will cover:

•    read and sew from a pattern

•    change stitches, needles and presser feet according to their project

•    finish seams with a serger

•    sew neat hems

•    sew gathers, pockets, casings and buttonholes as needed

how and when to use interfacing

SUPPLY LIST FOR STUDENTS: All materials are included in the cost of this camp. It is highly encouraged that you bring fabric that you are interested in wearing as we have a very limited selection.  Stretchy knits are ok for this class as we will be introducing the serger.
